You're right the 0% usually applies to just the balance transfer, but for this card I got a $50 credit on the card once I spent $50 (so it was basically free money) AND they offered 0% interest on purchases through December. So I have some time to pay off that balance before interest begins to accrue. Good catch!

Do 0% credit cards work differently over there to over here? Here if you buy anything on the card, that charge does not get the 0%. Only the balance transfer gets it. And any payments you make come of the balance transfer (0%) first while the new amounts continue to accrue interest at whatever the default rate is.

After I lost my purse a few years ago and replaced all the stuff, I photocopied everything in my wallet, front and back. That way, if I ever lose it again, I have the numbers handy to call and cancel.

Another thing to add is contacting the credit bureaus and letting them know about potential fraud. They will not let new accounts be opened without first contacting you, so the person with your info would have a harder time doing much with your identity.

Sorry you lost your purse! It is such a crappy feeling to know your personal information is floating out there.

Maybe the person with your stuff will be like the person who found my purse and send back the contents of your wallet. They didn't send back all the rest of the stuff from my purse, but the photos in my wallet and cards were nice to have back in my possession.
